Laman Samadzade graduated from Baku State University with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.). She is currently a Senior Legal Consultant at Nexia Azerbaijan, a member firm of Nexia International, where she advises on complex issues in commercial law and transactions, and prepares proposals aimed at improving national legislation.
Her academic and professional interests focus on international investment and commercial arbitration. She has participated in several renowned international programs, including the Hague Academy of International Law Summer Course on Private International Law, the Executive Training on Investment Treaties and Arbitration at Columbia University, the Ravenna Summer School on International Arbitration (University of Bologna), and the Winter Academy on International Arbitration (Russian Arbitration Center).
Samadzade has also acted as an arbitrator in the Willem C. Vis Moot (Moscow and Boston Pre-Moots) and the FDI Moot. She now plans to specialize further in International Investment Law and Arbitration, conducting research on effective dispute resolution mechanisms for commercial and investment disputes in Azerbaijan, as well as on the relationship between state sovereignty and investor protection in international investment arbitration.
