Ahmet Tokat has been a research and teaching assistant at the Faculty of Law, Istanbul University, since 2018, where he is also pursuing his PhD with a focus on the admissibility of evidence in international arbitration. He works extensively in both international arbitration and private international law. His academic involvement includes articles, conference papers and editorial experience reflect his engagement with the field. He is also an expert witness, a role that provides him with practical insights and reinforces his academic research.

In addition to his academic research, Ahmet is actively involved in moot court activities. He has coached Istanbul University’s teams and also served as an arbitrator in prestigious moot court competitions such as the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot and the ISTAC Future Arbitration Counsel Moot.

An alumnus of the Hague Academy of International Law, Ahmet is a member of “young” initiatives of leading arbitral institutions. He currently serves as the Young ITA Regional Contributor for Turkey. He is also a member of academic networks such as the European Society of International Law (ESIL), the Asian Academy of International Law (AAIL) and the Open Council of Europe Academic Networks (OCEAN).
